Ancient Roman Glass Double head flask
3rd–4th century CE / Eastern Mediterranean
Colorless, olive greenish tinge / Blown in two-part mold
Everted tubular rim, folded inward, cylindrical neck, body in shape of two faces, flat base.
Patches of cloudy weathering crust, iridescence. Large elongated bubble in neck.
The faces are those of children: bulging eyes with sunken centers, pug nose, prominent cheeks, lips, and chin. Coiffure consists of three rows of bumps; the first row resembles a fillet.
