Ancient Islamic Coin Umayyad Æ fals, struck in Akka (modern-day Acre), dates back to the early 8th century (ca. 80-90s AH / 700-710s AD).

  • Obverse:
    • The inscription reads “لا اله الا الله وحده” (There is no god but Allah alone), encircled by three concentric circles.
  • Reverse:
    • Mohammad is the messenger of allah / in the name of the God this Fals struck at AKKA محمد رسول الله / بسم الله ضرب هذا الفلس بعكا

Album notes two subtypes of this issue, those with broad irregular flans, such as this coin, and those with small round flans. The former he dates to the 80s, noting that they are all very rare RR, The later to the 90s, noting that they are all rare
