Very large Ancient Roman Glass Stopper
Eastern Mediterranean, Roman, ca. 1St–3rd century CE
An unusually large biconical glass stopper with tapering ends, measuring 16 cm in height. The surface shows heavy weathering with encrustation and iridescent patina.
Such oversized stoppers are extremely rare, as most ancient closures were small or made from organic materials that did not survive.
