Description
Rare Triple-Tube Kohl Vessel (Technical Misfire Variant)
Late Roman, 4th–5th century CE, Palestine
Light bluish glass with natural weathering and iridescent surface. Free-blown, forming a rare variation of the typical double kohl tube.
The body is composed of two main cylindrical tubes, accompanied by a third, central tube formed during manufacture. This central tube remains partially closed internally, the result of a technical misfire during the blowing process—creating a unique, undocumented variant of the standard form.
Thick tubular rim, folded inward. Flattened base.
With nice natural Patina
Note: While standard examples feature two functional tubes, this piece stands out as a rare manufacturing anomaly, offering insight into ancient glassblowing techniques and workshop errors—making it highly collectible and visually distinctive.
