Description
Ancient Roman Glass Bottle
Eastern Mediterranean, 1st century CE
10.4cm
Free-blown in light blue glass, this elegant vessel was likely intended for medicinal use.
It features an everted rim, neatly folded inward, leading to a cylindrical neck that gradually widens downward. The body is ovoid in form, terminating in a distinctive drop-shaped base. The overall proportions and delicate execution reflect typical Roman glassblowing techniques of the early Imperial period.
