Early Islamic Glass Flask
Umayyad – Abbasid Period, 8th–10th century CE
9Cm
A finely blown glass vessel of thick Glass, rendered in a deep blue tone. The form comprises a pear-shaped body rising to a short cylindrical neck, terminating in a distinctive rounded knop base. This elegant and compact morphology is characteristic of early Islamic utilitarian and cosmetic flasks.
The surface exhibits heavy patina, revealing a striking iridescent patina in shades of purple, green, and silver.
The glass retains its dense structure, indicative of high-quality production typical of early Islamic workshops in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Complete in form, with exceptional surface preservation and strong visual appeal.
